Description of the project:

The INOVWALL project aims to develop an innovative production technology for the industrialization of a multifunctional stone wall system, consisting of the interconnection of a set of modular panels and their attachment to the building structure. The modular system must comply with all the technical and functional requirements of an exterior wall, possess a high aesthetic / architectural value and demonstrate physical and mechanical characteristics and durability compatible with the various intended applications. It is intended that the system to be developed will leverage significant changes in the current paradigm of natural stone construction, evidence competitive advantages in the following fields: architecture, functional design, sustainability, eco-efficiency and technological innovation with natural materials. This project, starting on July 1, 2016, will last for 24 months.

Objectives:

Design and demonstrate, for the first time, the construction of an exterior or interior partitioning wall using natural stone as an aesthetic element combined with solutions that also contribute to the optimization of thermal/acoustic comfort, meeting the requirements of existing regulations; Develop and demonstrate a technology, with industrial characteristics, that allows the realization of the production of these new modular walls and that integrates all the innovative features, fulfilling all the technical and quality requirements; To design the production system, so that it can be scaled according to the existing market size (between 100,000 and 500,000 m2 / year); Design and implement technical specifications that allow the new system to be sold in accordance with the guarantees and certifications required in the global market; Develop and demonstrate all the technical attributes of handling and fixing of the INOVWALL system,
