Description of the project:The project "mcRICE: Sustainable multifunctional composites produced from rice husks, integrating recycled rubber and cork granulates" is based on a consistent way on the valuation of sustainable construction processes, through the development of composite materials that integrate waste and by-products from different productive sectors (rice bark, cork and rubber residues), but also by applying them to construction systems with high thermal and acoustic performance and a lower environmental impact than competing products.
Objectives:i) Create new composite materials with high commercial value and with high export potential; ii) Create new composite materials with high functional value in the dynamic, thermal and acoustic behavior; iii) Create new sustainable composite materials, with high rate of incorporating wastes and by-products from different productive sectors.
Main Activities:ACTIVITY 1: Definition of functional requirements; ACTIVITY 2: Numerical formulation and modeling studies; ACTIVITY 3: Development, optimization and prototyping; ACTIVITY 4: Validation; ACTIVITY 5: Dissemination of results.
