Description of the project:

The REVI CLEAN FAÇADE project aims to develop a new product in the ceramic elements, for the exterior cladding of façades. It is well known that one of the main problems regarding the use of ceramic products for façade cladding concerns the unaesthetic appearance of salts on the surface of the joints of these materials, called efflorescences. In this way, and since the market has no solution capable of minimizing/mitigating the appearance of efflorescence, it is intended that the product to be developed presents innovative characteristics in order to minimize this problem. This project is an investment in the field of materials, which will allow valuing the application of the ceramic element in the façades, promoting its cultural and architectural value.

Main Activities:

Preliminary studies consisting of a national and international market study, the definition of the functional requirements and requirements of the system, the physicochemical evaluation of system pathologies (based on a survey of existing solutions) and an economic study to establish associated limits the costs of production and the product itself; Conception and development of the system that goes through the basic definitions of system design, numerical simulation of physical and mechanical phenomena, development of bonding and joint grouting mortars, development of ceramic material, development of the ventilation system and development of solutions for adaptation of the production line; Experimental validation campaign for which a detailed physical and mechanical characterization of the various components and system is foreseen. Finally, application of the system in full-scale prototypes and monitoring; Promotion and dissemination of results.
