Description of the project:

The WashOne project aims the development, prototyping and final validation of an innovative toilet integrating multiple functions, such as the washlet system, the integrated water storage and discharge system in the toilet and the urine separation system. It is intended that this innovative toilet will be able to respond effectively to the latest concerns of society, related to aspects of comfort, hygiene, and sustainability.

Objectives:

To design an innovative sanitary system that integrates the bidet function, including a wide range of functionalities related to comfort, cleanliness and hygiene; Design an innovative water discharge system that integrates the toilet and allows the modulation of the discharge process and the monitoring of the Water consumption; To design a system of separation of urine, that allows its routing and later recovery in spaces and / or green coverings; Assemble and make compatible the three previously identified systems in a single sanitary part; Introduce hygiene systems that lead to a lower pollutant load associated with the use of disinfection products and toilet paper; Test the systems developed with respect to all regulatory and regulatory requirements; To study the compatibility of developed systems with the prevailing drainage conditions; Conduct an environmental assessment of the life cycle of the health system; Dissemination of results.

Main Activities:

Preliminary studies; Conception and development of the system; Prototyping and analysis of manufacturing conditions; Experimental validation and environmental evaluation; Promotion and dissemination of results.
