Description of the project:

The mobilization project PT21 - Powered Textiles 21, inserted in the Fashion Competitiveness Center, focused on launching a set of R&D initiatives with a strong collective character and high inductive and demonstrative effect in areas considered critical to the repositioning and success of industries textiles and clothing. In this sense, it had the central involvement of companies in the textile and clothing sector, but also in other sectors of the economy with which ITV crosses, mainly in the application of technical textiles. The project featured a PPS dedicated to innovative solutions for Habitat.

Objectives:

The axes of intervention of this mobilizing project include the development of technical textiles for different sectors, namely for the automotive interior, fashionable clothing and functional technical clothing, protective clothing. The project also had a component dedicated to distribution through the development of the store concept of the future. In the sector of Habitat and Intelligent Spaces the project focused on the development of composite solutions, composed of wood materials, textiles and resins, as well as decorative materials through the incorporation of fiber optics and other light elements.

Main Activities:

The project was structured around 7 PPS (Products, Processes or Services) that aimed to develop an innovative solutions in different areas. In the particular case of Habitat, a dedicated project was carried out, PPS 7 - Habitat - Development of new technical textiles applied to the habitat sectors. The innovation of this project was based on R&D of: Composite structures reinforced by textiles with exceptional decorative characteristics, high mechanical performance and resistant to friction; New formulations based on epoxy resins with excellent adhesion to textile substrates and other cellulosic materials such as wood; Methods of encapsulation of textile structures, electronic components, and other decorative components in the composite wood/textile/resin; Methods of maintenance and cleaning of composite structures.

Other Information:

From this project resulted the application of National Patent No. 107092 "COMPOSITE MATERIAL, PROCESS OF OBTAINMENT AND ITS APPLICATIONS".
