Description of the project:

The present project aims to optimize a prototype of a gas/microwave hybrid oven for porcelain firing. It is intended to industrially validate and demonstrate that the conventional microwave-assisted heating process can lead to a reduction in energy consumption of up to 10% and take up to 15% less time, compared to the conventional process (heating by combustion of natural gas ). This technology is potentially cleaner, faster, less costly and more efficient than the traditional processes in use. The results obtained in the GreenWave project (SI I&DT project completed previously) are promising, although it is necessary to optimize operating parameters, as well as to restructure a microwave module that will be inserted in the new model. This solution will allow the ceramics to be fired properly, maintaining the quality of the pieces obtained within internationally accepted parameters.
