This project focuses on the development of a highly efficient and multifunctional insulation material for buildings - Vacuum Insulated Panels (VIP). The panels will be versatile, easy to produce and apply, and will improve their properties over time. They will have a lower cost by reducing the density of the core material or by incorporating new materials along with the use of a cost-effective gas barrier film. This product will have an improved hygrothermal performance. This solution will lead to an advance in energy efficiency, both for the construction of new buildings and for the rehabilitation of buildings. This product will have numerous applications (walls, roofs, decks, indoor and outdoor) and is particularly relevant in areas of the enclosure where the relation between insulation thickness and its performance are of extreme importance.
