Description of the project:

Design and characterization of green roofs and living facades built with structured systems in expanded natural cork.

Objectives:

- Design of GRLF systems containing expanded cork agglomerate; - Application of a new experimental approach in the study of GRLF systems; - Development and implementation of numerical models to simulate the hydraulic flow and the hygrothermal and acoustic behavior of the system; - Definition of general rules for the application of GRLF systems.

Main Activities:

Characterization of the ICB and the substrate; Conception and design of GRLF systems; To determine the behavior of the system in bioclimatic chambers; Numerical simulations and validation through experimental results; Establish guidelines and plastic rules for GRLF systems.
